Details

Adjacent to managed farmland, mainly set to arable and sheep, Highwell is located on the outskirts of Kingsbridge in the tiny South Devon village of Churchstow.

An immaculately presented, spacious, detached family home, set in beautiful landscaped gardens and lawns and surrounded by woodland and meadow, yet ten minutes from the sea and five minutes walk to the outstanding village pub.  The house benefits from glorious far reaching views, particularly spectacular at sunset from the woodland sundowner spot, especially after an energetic game of tennis or a relaxing sauna.

The ground floor comprises an open plan newly renovated kitchen/ dining room that leads onto the south facing orangery with table seating for 16 one end and snug seating the other.  The spacious central hallway boasts elegance, character and warmth with a wood burner stove.  From the hallway double doors lead to the sitting room with wood burner to the right and further double doors to the kitchen to the left.  The kitchen leads out into a morning sun trap patio for leisurely breakfasts and further terracing which wraps around the house. As with most of the rooms, both the sitting room and kitchen offer dual aspects, allowing abundance of natural light.  Straight ahead more double doors open to the large orangery that stretches the width of the property, a peaceful spot to relax and take in the croquet lawn and garden.

Stairs lead from the hallway to the large first floor landing with access to three large double rooms and a bunk room, which all benefit from ensuite shower/ bathrooms.  The expansive master bedroom has built-in wardrobes and shares its ensuite with the bunk room, ideal for kids.  On the second floor are two further bedrooms with a family bathroom.

Tucked to the rear of the house, the two bedroom Annexe ( The Bolt Hole) is ideal for grandparents or those that prefer a little more quiet or space of their own, away from the larger group. Otherwise known as The Bolt Hole, it has its own private entrance, enclosed patio area ( ideal for dogs) and an enchanting little gate leading out to the sauna and gardens.  Open plan living with a snug area, table seating and a fully fitted kitchen.  Stairs lead to two bedrooms with fabulous valley views and a bathroom.
